The entire plant with power house and hydraulic structures is owned by the Canton of Zurich. While the side weir, headrace and tailrace channel and the associated controls are managed by the Office of Waste, Water, Energy and Air of the Canton of Zurich the turbine building is under the care of the Office of Monument Preservation of the Canton of Zurich

On behalf of the Office for Monument Preservation, our Association Historical Small Power Plant Ottenbach (VHKO) ensures that the turbine is started up regularly and that the plant is continuously maintained. In the event of a flood hazard, the on-call manager on duty is on site and organises the flood protection measures.
